In Riviera Beach, FL, Nancy Hill, a 70 year old woman, and her 2 dogs were attacked by a swarm of bees that lived in a 50 pound honeycomb located on the side of her home.

Nancy was lucky to survive and was treated at a hospital where the stingers were removed.  However, her 2 dogs were both killed from the attack.  The bees also attacked her neighbors 2 dogs, where one of them was also killed and the other was sent to a hospital.

Tests are being run in a lab to identify if these bees were Africanized bees, which are known for being more aggressive and attacking in swarms.  “Experts believe they can be found throughout Florida”.  Authorities in Palm Beach County had crews remove the hive and had it contained, but does knowing this calm the local residents?
